SNAP Benefits Event

WHAT: The Garden City Empowerment Center and Step Up Savannah are partnering to help qualified people in Chatham County access SNAP benefits. SNAP, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, formerly known as food stamps, is a federal nutrition program that helps individuals and families stretch their food budget and buy healthy food by providing monthly benefits via an EBT card. During this event, Step Up Savannah will help determine if individuals and households are eligible to receive SNAP benefits and help them through the application process. Step Up will also offer assistance to those who need to renew their eligibility to receive SNAP benefits. This event is free and open to the public and a great opportunity to speak to a program representative face-to-face, ask any questions, and gain access to this critical assistance program.
