KLEPT + HEY CHROMA @ THE SENTIENT BEAN

Experimental music isn’t often this compelling, but if you’ve seen Klept live, you may have also noticed they have something extra. Whatever it is, it works and they are refining the process of bringing the noise, wrangling it into music, and landing on you. Rome, Ga.’s Hey Chroma and locals Girlfriend From Hell and Ken Where’s My Car clear the runway.

FRI MAR 3 | 7:30 PM

KIDD G @ DISTRICT LIVE

A portion of modern country vocals have been slowly adopting a twangy hip-hop delivery over the last decade. It makes sense, with storytelling driving so many songs and pop riches to be had with a crossover hit. Kidd G makes no bones about his country-rap blend. Discovered after posting a video for “Dirt Road” that went viral, the Georgia native has become a legit recording artist.

FRI MAR 3 | 8 PM

BERO BERO @ EL ROCKO

They call it sultry, synth-driven mood music, and they are absolutely correct. Think of Veronica Garcia-Melendez and drummer David Murray’s intriguing collaboration as Savannah’s hometown Eurythmics. It’s kinda new wave, the vocals are sexy, and with a common theme, each track has the potential to upend expectations.

SAT MAR 4 | 9 PM

QUINN SULLIVAN + VERONICA LEWIS @ THE WORMHOLE

Blues guitarist Sullivan appeared on stage at Madison Square Garden with his mentor Buddy Guy 10 years ago next month. He’s 23! The child prodigy is growing up and getting better, paying it forward by touring with keyboard prodigy Lewis, who had her first album debut at #2 on the Billboard Blues chart at age 18.

FRI MAR 10 | 8 PM

DJ KUT DAILY @ CONGRESS STREET SOCIAL CLUB

Kut Daily’s semi-regular gig continues at one of downtown’s most libidinous hotspots. Spinning a wide variety of styles and sounds, it all has at least one common thread: it keeps the crowd alive, moving and grooving. You know what Marvin Gaye said about that, right?

SAT MAR 4 | 10 PM

SNAILS @ ELAN SAVANNAH

EDM isn’t known for subtlety, but Montreal’s Snails just stomps all over the dubstep pleasantries, such as they are. A veteran of the 2015 Las Vegas Electric Daisy Carnival, he’s toured with Flosstradamus and played Coachella and Lollapalooza. Best of all, Snails is the innovator of vomitstep, gurgling with guttural bass and idiotic synth oscillations. How un-Canadian!

FRI MAR 3 | 10 PM

VINCENT FRIEDELL QUINTET @ GOOD TIMES JAZZ BAR

Friedel earned his degree in jazz and studio performance at U. of Memphis in 2021, and Savannah got lucky again when the saxophonist decided to move to town. An expert improvisor, he’s backed by Good Times regulars Eric Jones, Taylor Yarbrough, and Robert Saunders, with Friday night bass from Marc Chesanow and a thorough Saturday thumping by Thomas Milovac.

FRI & SAT, MAR 3 & 4 | 8 PM

CARTER DEEMS @ THE WORMHOLE

On a Saturday night, you’re usually looking for an entertainer with a resume that includes friendly battle rapper, teleQvision writer, stand-up comic, and cast member on MTV’s Wild and Out. You’ve finally found him. Deems tries his best to make you laugh because he cannot get enough applause. Despite the list of accomplishments, it’s all he has. Just ask him.
