Suffragette to open Savannah Film Festival

The Savannah Film Festival will open with Suffragette, a film inspired by early activists fighting for women's right to vote, starring Carey Mulligan, Helena Bonham Carter and Meryl Streep.

This year's annual festival runs from Oct. 24-31 downtown.
