The most influential creative force in twentieth-century popular music, Edward Kennedy "Duke" Ellington composed a substantial portion of the American song catalog and was a spokesman for African American music across the globe. Dr. Randall Reese, Associate Professor of Music at Georgia Southern, will explore Ellington’s impact as a composer, performer, bandleader, and mentor.
