Seminal stoner/doom band The Obsessed have reformed and are taking a new record on the road.
The band, which formed in 1980 after vocalist Scott “Wino” Weinrich parted ways with the ‘80s doom kings Saint Vitus, and released deeply-influential albums throughout the 1990s, including the masterful The Church Within, return with a new record, Sacred. Released on Relapse Records this year, the album demonstrates a grand return with the band at its heaviest.
The band is performing as a three-piece, featuring Wino, Reid Raley, and Brian Costantino.
Joining The Obsessed on tour are riff-driven heavy rockers Karma To Burn, and Ohio stoner rock band Lo-Pan.
