The Parasites, Pussy Launcher @The Wormhole

'90s pop-punk favorites Parasites hit The Wormhole this weekend.

Formed in New Jersey by Dave Parasite, Ron Nole, and Dave Ross, the band debuted on Shredder Records in 1992. Not long after, Dave moved to California in the midst of the Bay Area pop-punk glory days and continued the band with new members. Parasites became dedicated road dogs, touring with the likes of Green Day, Rancid, NOFX, Bad Religion, Buzzcocks, Jawbreaker, and more, and releasing material on Go-Kart Records, Wingnut Records, and Clearview Records.

Dave revived the Parasites in 2006 with Go Kart releasing a best of album, Retro Pop Remasters, in 2006. The band’s working on new material to be recorded soon and continuing their dedication to touring and keeping pop-punk tradition alive.

Wormhole “house band” Pussy Launcher kick it off with a sure-to-be over-the-top set involving food, irreverent sing-alongs, and fabulous costuming.

Thursday, May 18, 10 p.m., $4.99-9.99 via wormholebar.com, 18+
