What are we Wearing?

LEFT: We tend to associate holiday season outfits with sequins, bold jewel tones and fabulous red lipstick, but sometimes less is more. A simple satin dress is a classic piece that, when styled correctly, can be a great holiday party option. A cardigan with rhinestone buttons adds a touch of glam, while keeping you cozy and comfortable. Add a simple kitten heel and some old Hollywood waves in your hair for the ultimate timeless look. Satin dress, cream cardigan.

RIGHT: Tailored sets are everywhere right now. Lucky for us, they’re not all formal business suits. Most of the sets you’ll find around town are brightly colored with cropped jackets and high-waisted shorts, making the styling possibilities endless. Try layering your blazer over a shiny blouse for a touch of sparkle at a holiday party. Pair the look with white booties and a bold lip. For a less dressy outfit, pair just the shorts with an oversized sweater. Or, put the blazer over a graphic tee with ripped jeans on the bottom. Blue jacket, blue shorts, sparkly blouse, clear purse.

Both looks are available at Morgan Rae Boutique (301 W Broughton St., Unit B).
