How true, I drive the Torras Causeway to St Simons frequently which is four laned and the cars (and me) drive much faster on it than the Tybee Road. Luckily they have a separated bike path except on the bridges and there have been several fatalities on it in recent years. While I don't frequent the Savannah news as much, it seems accidents are more common on the Torras causeway than the Tybee Rd. It's an accepted fact about the traffic calming of 2 laned roads. If the additional traffic lanes are needed, by all means separate the bike paths on the roads and bridges with physical barriers.
