Wonders of the Wurlitzer: 'Safety Last!' 100th Anniversary

Celebrate National Silent Movie Day with a special centennial screening of Harold Lloyd's eternal comedic masterpiece Safety Last! featuring live musical accompaniment by organist Ron Carter on the Lucas' original Mighty Wurlitzer. In this filmmaking feat that has astonished audiences for a century, Lloyd plays a small-town guy trying to make his way in the big city. Hilarious and jaw-dropping in equal measure, to experience the film with an audience as it moves between uproarious laughter and awestruck gasps is, as film critic and scholar David Shipman put it, "one of the greatest experiences of cinema."
