Another Wells Fargo hit?!

Posted on Fri, Mar 22, 2013 at 5:20 PM

Two days after a Wells Fargo on Ogeechee Road was robbed, a branch on West Bay Street a few miles north, also on the city's westside, was targeted.

Metro Police are collaborating with FBI agents and Garden City Police to investigate the robbery of the Wells Fargo branch on the 3500 block of West Bay Street this morning.

Savannah-Chatham officers, joined by detectives, canine officers, police helicopter Eagle One and Garden City officers, saturated the areas both east and west of the bank in search of gunmen who took money from the branch about 9:40 a.m.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Crimestoppers at (912) 234-2020 or text CRIMES (274637). Tipsters remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward. A Confidential Tip Line also is open directly to investigators at (912) 525-3124.

But Savannah’s just like anyplace else— people and businesses can decide it’s just not worth it anymore.
