Detectives seek information on the events leading to a cutting on Friday night.

“Just after 7 p.m. Metro responded to a residence on the 9100 block of Ferguson Avenue, were a relative found 30-year-old James Nichols, III, with a stab wound. Investigators are determining whether the incident occurred near the 9100 block of Whitfield Avenue,” police say.

Nichols was transported to Memorial University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a bald white male in his mid-30s, standing 5-07 to 5-11 and weighing 200 pounds.
