CNT says these balloons were used to huff nitrous oxide.
“Nearly a dozen people are facing felony drug charges following an undercover drug operation at a Savannah concert,” says a spokesperson for the Chatham-Savannah Counter Narcotics Team (CNT).

CNT agents, “along with agents from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Drug Enforcement Administration, attended the Widespread Panic concert held at the Savannah Civic Center Friday night,” the CNT spokesperson says.

“Undercover agents made purchases of various forms of controlled substances including heroin and LSD. Agents also seized a cylinder containing nitrous oxide after observing persons purchasing balloons filled with nitrous.”

Eight people were arrested on felony drug charges and transported to the Chatham County Detention Center. U.S. currency and a vehicle were also seized during the operation.

Seized cash at concert.

  1. Big bad CNT. They’re all corrupt. I am from Savannah and have lived here 25 years. a bunch of hippies getting high and listening to a jam band is the least of savannah’s drug problem. And regardless of what they’d like to tell themselves, the CNT’s existence in fact makes the drugs and the violence worse, because every time they make a bust, drug prices on the street go up and a power vacuum is created. I have nothing but respect for law enforcement, but its time for the drug cops to be reassigned and the CNT dismantled. After living in colorado for 2 years and then moving back, I can say with confidence that they are a bigger problem for our fair city than any of the drugs themselves. Feel free to ask me why, based on what I’ve seen here.

  2. CNT randomly and wrongly targeted me once on Tybee Island, including threatening physical violence against me. They unlawfully searched my vehicle and got so angry when it turned out there was nothing to find. They threatened my life as they left, and then they came back later that evening, did something in my vehicle and left it wide open.

I reported this crime to Tybee police who told me I should not drive the truck and that I should take apart every bit of the interior looking for something planted by CNT. This was Tybee PD telling me they were aware of CNT planting drugs to set people up.

I wish CNT the worst, the absolute worst.

  3. Savannah has always been hot.hot.hot. can’t believe the reputation failed for those kids to know this….

  4. CNT is a domestic terrorist organization disguised as law enforcement. They’re scum.

  5. Waste of tax payer $ and time … Echoing the sentiment that these aren’t the violent people the community needs to worry about…
