Judge Lisa G. Colbert helped organize a Valentine’s Day wedding event at the Chatham County Recorder’s Court on Feb. 14, 2024 in downtown Savannah. She joined Judge Tammy Stokes and Judge Joe Huffman in marrying at least 14 couples on the day of love.
The idea, for Colbert, came after she presided over several divorce cases on Valentine’s Day in 2023.
“I said I’m not doing that again this year,” Colbert said with a laugh on Wednesday.
“Today is a feel-good day in the courthouse,” Huffman said. “This is a way for us to show how much we as judges love what we do.”
