Students invited to get pampered

Local K-12 students have the opportunity to participate in A Fresh Start event hosted by Saint Leo University on July 31 from 9 a.m. to noon. Families can visit the 325 W. Montgomery Crossroad location to receive free haircuts, massages, manicures and school supply giveaways to kick off the start of the new school year.

Community takes action against childhood hunger

Children facing hunger will receive much needed assistance from local non-profit People of Action Caring for Kids, also known as PACK. The ‘Childhood Hunger Doesn’t Take a Summer Vacay’ summer fundraising campaign will run through July 23, and individuals and businesses are being asked to help raise funds to prevent childhood hunger and food insecurity in the community

Also known as Habitat Savannah, they are hosting two National Homeownership Month events to celebrate the beginning and ending of several local families’ journeys to owning their own homes.
