I suppose it’s possible to be shaken to the core by this movie – even if it’s ultimately not much more frightening than, say, Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island – but ultimately, it’s just one more haunted-house yarn.
Film Reviews
Review: The Wolverine
Like X-Men Origins: Wolverine, this latest effort is a middling superhero saga that attempts to deepen our understanding of the character but instead ends up mainly treading narrative water.
Review: Pacific Rim
The film’s special effects are superb, yet their frequent and coolly detached employment means that this is basically a CGI circle jerk.
Review: The Lone Ranger
The movie could lose the insufferable framing device that features Depp getting to wear even more makeup, as he plays Tonto as an elderly man relating the bulk of the movie as a flashback.

Review: World War Z

Review: Man of Steel

Review: Before Midnight
It’s a beautifully sustained piece of cinema, raw and authentic and emotional.
Review: The Internship
The two stars still get the lion’s share of the choice quips, but that’s OK: They’re both on their game, and it’s their ingratiating ways with a line that keeps the humor percolating.
