This year is the 25th anniversary of the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force in Pooler. That is but one of the many reasons the organization, along with other Savannah-area veteran’s groups, is honoring service members who paid the ultimate sacrifice in a number of commemorations and ceremonies slated for Memorial Day weekend.

The inaugural “Freedom Floats” will be a patriotic parade past Savannah’s downtown waterfront on July 4 in honor of Independence Day.

A Fundraiser That’s On Par
Hundreds of numbered golf balls will be covering the driving range of the Deer Creek course in the Landings on April 26 for The One Hundred Children’s Foundation’s Great Golf Ball Drop fundraiser. The OHCF will host an elegant picnic dinner under tents on the driving range, followed by a golf ball drop. Golf balls can be purchased for $100 and prizes will be awarded to the three golf balls that land closest to the hole.
