AASU Music Ensembles
Combination recital from two of Armstrong Atlantic State University’s music programs. The Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of Stephen Primatic will feature exotic jazz works like Christopher Rouse’s ode to the Hawaiian god of war, “Ku-ka ilimoku,” while Randall Reese directs the Jazz Ensemble through standards by the likes of Count Basie and Duke Ellington. $5 at the door or free for card-carrying AASU students. Badfish - Tribute To Sublime

I can’t even believe that people waste their time writing and recording 10th generation poseur indie-rock crap like this, let alone get in a van and haul themselves around the country acting “crazy” in front of back-hat wearing “bros.” Seriously. Sure, they can play. This Asheville, N.C. quartet is tight and solid. It’s also completely indistinguishable from any of the million interchangeable acts who’ve driven this kind of snot-nosed, fake-ass, whiny “punk” into the ground three years ago.
