SAVANNAH-BASED 9Twelve Entertainment is kicking off the first installment in a summer concert series for Savannah’s youth. This Friday, it’s an all-ages school’s-out bash featuring both national and local talent.

Siblings Ayo & Teo (20 and 17 years old, respectively) got their start dancing in music videos for superstars like Usher and Chris Brown, but thanks to YouTube, the duo just inked their own deal with Columbia Records.

Ayo & Teo debuted on the Billboard charts, climbing up to No. 32 on the Hot 100, thanks to “Rolex,” produced by BL$$D & BackPack Miller. The addictive ode to covetable timepieces has over 70 million YouTube views and launched a “Rolex challenge” dance craze via social media.

283, another sibling duo, will open; while the two were raised in Savannah, they’ve since relocated to Atlanta to pursue their careers. Them Sturdy Boyz, an emerging Savannah rap group, round out the bill.

9Twelve Entertainment President Robby Newsome looks forward to providing Savannah’s young people with entertainment during their summer break.

“As a born and raised Savannahian, I know that our youth needs more opportunities to safely enjoy themselves,” he says. “The summer concert series combines their favorite music with a fun environment where they can skate, eat, and see artists who would otherwise cost them more in a traditional concert setting. We also want to support Savannah’s local talent by booking them to open the show.”

friday, May 19, 7 p.m., $25 general admission in advance, $35 day of, $45 VIP, $50 VIP day of (includes meet-and-greet with Ayo & Teo, souvenir lanyard, VIP access), tickets available at DTLR Oglethorpe Mall and Garden City locations or via 912.844.2955
