Fire in the Hole: Dope KNife, Obeah, C. Shreve, SymmaTree @The Wormhole

Updated June 12, 2018 at 11:13 a.m.

Give Savannah’s own Dope KNife a big welcome home at Fire in the Hole. The local rapper has returned from touring to SXSW and has created an eclectic lineup of hip-hop talent to fire up Friday night.

Obeah, an Atlanta-based emcee, brings socially-charged, introspective stylings to the mix. He’s toured with Public Enemy, and was signed to Chuck D’s imprint Spit Slam, contributed to the electronic scene with Daily Bread, performed with WAKE, and has played with experimental group and Savannah favorite The Difference Machine.

C. Shreve, a Deep Gap, North Carolina-based emcee, is a co-founder of hip-hop collective Free the Optimus. He splits his time between working the classroom as a lecturer at Appalachian State University and working the stage as an artist with jazz, hip-hop, and soul influences.

New Orleans native SymmaTree began as a member of DarkSyde Yakuza Republic hip-hop crew. Now, he performs as a solo artist and is a member of the rap/punk band Dangerous Animal and hip-hop/reggae/funk group Autumn Improv.
