That a Dave Matthews Band Tribute band would exist was more or less a foregone conclusion early in DMB’s run. Their first album debuted on the Billboard charts at No. 1, as did the next SIX albums. They went on to sell 25 million concert tickets and move 40 million records and CDs. DMTB makes it abundantly clear why.

Club One doesn’t half-ass anything. The HQIC (pictured) wouldn’t allow it. Check out Drag Bingo on Monday nights. It’s like a schnapps-soaked 70s Chuck Barris game show on LSD. So don’t expect the free drag show to be any less fun, funny, bawdy or sexy as the one they make you pay for. For the nth time, start the weekend early.

WINEHOUSED: THE AMY CELEBRATION @ DISTRICT LIVE

Drop in to District Live for a 10-piece tribute to the late, great soul and R&B singer. Winehouse left this mortal coil way too young, and with less than 90 minutes of original material released on two albums, but boy did they deliver. Twenty years later, the retro soul sounds of those records still reverberate. Winehoused proves there’s nothing like seeing them performed live.

ANDERS THOMSEN TRIO @ JAZZ’D TAPAS BAR

Anders Thomsen is an absolute shredder on the six string, conjuring up a miraculous sonic stew reminiscent of Chet Atkins stumbling over Dick Dale who just walked into a pole staring at Dolly Parton while lost at a rodeo.
