This week our entire community is reminded of our place in this world. The Supreme Court has taken up three cases which all pose the same question: Can a person be fired for being gay or transgender?

After the gay marriage ruling, I’ve never seen such a widespread, spontaneous and genuine outpouring of joy, relief, and celebration from so many people as I saw that day, and the weekend to follow. Frankly, it might be the most deeply felt expression of national unity seen since 9/11, if I may be so bold.
