Beverly Willett is the author of “Disassembly Required: A Memoir of Midlife Resurrection,” a personal account of starting over and landing in Savannah. She was nominated for 2020 Georgia Author of the Year. A former NYC entertainment attorney, her articles have appeared in many of the nation’s largest newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, USA Today, The Washington Post, Salon, Newsweek, Prevention, The Guardian, and many more. Locally, she’s written for Savannah Magazine and South, with opinion pieces carried by the Savannah Morning News. In 2016, she gave a popular Tedx Talk entitled “How to Begin Again.” She’s been interviewed on Sirius Radio, Public Radio, Fox Radio, WABC Radio, and CNN. Locally, she’s been heard on WTOC, WSAV, WJCL, WRUU, and iHeartRadio. She has worked for divorce reform, including lecturing and advising former Chief Justice of the Georgia Supreme Court Leah Ward Sears and Dr. William Dohery on the Second Chances Act. She’s active in many Savannah organizations and serves on the boards of the Chatham-Savannah Authority for the Homeless (CSAH), the Flannery O’Connor Childhood Home Foundation, and the ATC.
