As Savannah’s live music scene continues to grow and evolve, a group of local DJs are working to make sure electronic music is welcome in the Hostess City.
Lauren Wolverton
Lauren Wolverton is self-described storyteller, fashion addict and lover of lattes. At Connect Savannah, she is a journalist and a strategic marketing consultant. Wolverton grew up between Georgia and Mississippi, then went on to graduate from Mississippi State University. A job as a news producer at a local television station brought her to the Hostess City, and her love of entertainment and business brought her to Connect Savannah. Wolverton is passionate about sharing the stories of those growing Savannah’s fashion and music scenes, along with those working every day to foster and rescue animals. She loves eating, drinking and shopping local. When Wolverton isn’t working, she can be found at the gym or at the newest restaurant in town having a beer. Charles Maring is an artist with an impressive international resume who has lived and worked primarily in the northeast. When New York shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Maring and his wife embarked on a trip along the East Coast. The two eventually made their way to Savannah, fell in love with the city, and decided to pack their bags and move.

Savannah College of Art and Design is reflecting on the struggles of the COVID-19 pandemic and celebrating local organizations that worked to keep Savannah going over the last year by honoring them with the SCAD Salutes award.
