A woman was stopped by police in reference to standing in the street at the intersection of 38th and Jefferson streets. She told police she was waiting for a ride. A man in a car had stopped, but pulled off when he saw the police car. That location is known for prostitution. When the woman was asked for personal information, she gave a false date of birth. She was charged with obstruction.
A Cimarron Drive resident told police that he wanted a woman living in his home to leave, but that she would not go. The man said the woman had been living in his home for two years as a non-paying renter, staying in a room adjacent to the den. The woman told police she has been paying rent. The man was advised to seek civil litigation in magistrates court.
Two Sylvan Drive women told police they have been received harassing phone calls. According to both women, the problem began with a wrong number call and has escalated to threats of using a machete against the two. Both women admitted they have responded to some of the calls in a provoking way, escalating the problem even further.
