A man had a confrontation with his neighbors after one of them cut through his yard. At one point, he shouted, Im (going to) buy a bow and arrow and well see what happens the next time you come in my yard! The neighbor said he did cut through the mans yard but told officers he had already apologized for it.
An attempted drug transaction at the corner of Montgomery Cross Road and White Bluff Road culminated in the arrest of two Savannah men and sent a family of three to the hospital. Chatham Narcotics Team agents, conducting undercover surveillance operations in the parking lot of a shopping plaza saw two suspects in a white Ford Thunderbird attempting a drug sale. When the men saw the agents, they made a desperate attempt to flee the scene. Their vehicle went east on Montgomery Cross Roads for nearly a mile before losing control and crashing head-on with an Isuzu Trooper near Waters Avenue. The Trooper was occupied by a young couple and their 5-year-old son. Upon impact, the Thunderbird ignited in flames and the two suspects tried to run away but were captured. The fire was put out and agents recovered a quarter ounce of powdered and crack cocaine, and marijuana. The family was taken to Memorial Health, but didnt suffer any serious injury.
A woman told police her husband became upset and began yelling at her. He then pushed her in the chest. The man was waiting outside in a vehicle when police arrived and told them he did not touch his wife. There was no physical evidence of an assault, but the couples son told officers he had seen his father push his mother. The man was taken to jail.
Police stopped a man who was traveling at a high rate of speed on the Truman Parkway at the DeRenne exit. The motorcycle had no tag. The man claimed he had just bought the motorcycle and said the speedometer didnt work. Further investigation revealed that the motorcycle was stolen.
