Evelyn Jerden, a recent cum laude graduate from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) photography department, is also an ex-employee from their photography cave and a native of Colorado. She has a deep passion for ice hockey and started playing the game at an early age.

Her love of the game continued as Jerden began following the Colorado Eagles minor league hockey team during its inaugural season. She has worked the last two seasons for the Savannah Ghost Pirates (ECHL) as a club photographer.

Jerden’s work is on at a photography exhibition on Monday (June 3) from 5pm to 8pm at the home of the Ghost Pirates, Enmarket Arena. The exhibit is called “Game Day.”

She channeled her fandom into focus using the lens of a camera. Savannah hockey fans will soon have their chance to see the unique vantage points Jerden is looking through.

Combining a love of hockey and her passion for photography, Jerden has captured most all of the Ghost Pirates’ home games since the team’s arrival a few years back. From the momentous to the mundane, the scenes and styles are wide-ranging. Being a hockey sports photographer is what she likes to call ‘a god moment.’

It is not something she could have dreamed of as a child but with SCAD and Evelyn’s hard work it has come to be her reality.
