The City of Savannah invites the public to attend a virtual community meeting on the Canal District’s Wetlands Preserve Park and Nature Trail on Monday, Aug. 5.
Residents can participate in the virtual meeting via Zoom. Pre-registration is not required.
The virtual meeting will include a synopsis of the previous public engagement meetings; a review of the signage (types, location, content); a review of the symbols and color choices related to the educational portion of the signage; and an explanation of the planned park design and features.
Funding for the park’s public engagement process came from the Coastal Incentive Grant, awarded to the City from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. According to the City of Savannah website, the project “will be an inclusive educational/interpretive trail system with facilities for environmental education and wildlife viewing, providing public access to coastal resources within the Canal District.”
For more information about the park, residents can visit the Wetland Preserve Park page at www.savannahga.gov/wetlandspark or email planning@savannahga.gov or call 912-651-3108.
