Bottles & Cans

Hazel Virtue
This melodic, regional modern rock act has strong ties to both Savannah and Charleston, and have been slugging away in the trenches for several years. At long last that seems to be paying off, with at least one local commercial FM station spinning their latest CD much more regularly than can usually be expected from such outlets. Recently stripped down to a 3-piece from a quartet, they seem poised for bigger things.Sat., Finnegans Wake (formerly OConnells Irish Pub). The Hitmen

The idea is to present local musicians in a format unlike that in which they normally perform. Whiskey Dicks rode-hard-and-put-up-wet take on the outlaw country genre is at times racy, and at times tranquil, much like David Allan Coe or Kris Kristofferson. Little is known about the roots blues artist who calls himself The Prowlin Rooster which may work to his advantage. Thurs., 8 pm, The Sentient Bean – ALL AGES. Lalo
