Chatham County voters turned out at a 15.8 percent clip for the May 21 Georgia General Primary and Nonpartisan Elections, according to state Election data.

Of the 200,383 active voters in the county, 31,576 filled out a ballot. That number includes voters who turned in ballots during early voting stages, as well as those who voted on Tuesday, May 21. It also includes absentee ballots.

Voters aged 18-39 in Chatham County turned out at just 1.8 percent (3,594 ballots) for 2024 primaries, state data shows. As a state, Georgia had an 18.1 percent turnout rate.

The May 24, 2022 Primary Election had a turnout rate of 28.2 percent in Chatham County. In 2022, there were 55,280 ballots cast of 196,554 registered voters (see below for 2022 data).
