Remedying a longtime discrepancy, Georgia Attorney General Sam Olens today announced an addition to Georgia’s reciprocal recognition of firearms permit holders from other states.
“Legislation initially passed in 1996 allowed Georgia to grant this privilege to citizens of states which recognized Georgia firearms permits,” a spokesperson for Olens says.
However, for many years South Carolina opted not to recognize Georgia firearms permits, also known as weapons carry licenses.
“The State of South Carolina has determined that it will honor Georgia firearms permits. Therefore, effective immediately, Georgia recognizes firearms permits issued by South Carolina,” the spokesperson says.
With this revision, Georgia now reciprocates in recognizing firearms licenses with the following states:
Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
“As always, Georgia firearms permit holders should familiarize themselves with the individual requirements and limitations on firearms permits in any of the reciprocating states where they wish to exercise their rights under this reciprocity program,” the Attorney General’s office warns.

GREAT !
It *should* be honored in EVERY State in the Union,
except for the liberalNA Z1 States making illegal laws that contradict our Constitution..
RIGHTS OBLITERATED;
means that those of whom struggle on the minimum wage cannot afford arms permit. Yet, their sons and daughters can be drafted for military duty in order to kill during war times. How low can a so-called pseudo democracy remain as a catch all in order to deny what we call freedom to protect any and all low income citizens? For years I have flown our flag lower than half mast. I will never bow down to a hell’s political minion now walking over citizens in all fifty states. Our Republic hangs by a thread. I regurgitate when I even think about this. It takes a sorry bastard to even push such legislation, of which is nothing less than another step into the arms of any state fascism.
Thanks for Sharing it what a nice blog. Thank you for this sharing cheers up!

To–hog: there’s no longer a draft, friend. Anyone wanting to fight for USisrael
has to willingly join and presumably they know what they are getting into: illegal wars waged 8500 miles from home on innocent people, most of whom do not have the capability of striking back. Easy, huh? The swamp creatures running this country certainly think so.
There is a measure of truth in the rest of what you wrote, though low-income people are there to be exploited, not protected.
I agree that gun prices have gone up, but you can still pick up a bargain here or there. Try some of the web sites. Now and then you can find a very decent firearm for well under $200, the new threshold price, it seems. I remember in the Seventies buying an M-1 Carbine .30 caliber with a 30-round magazine for $35. I looked on Armslist the other day and now the exact same rifle is $700, the magazine sold separately.

The draft exists (or at least registration for its use), it hasn’t be used since the Vietnam WAR, but it is there. Almost all male U.S. citizens and male immigrants, who are 18 through 25, are required to register with Selective Service. It’s important to know that even though he is registered, a man will not automatically be inducted into the military. In a crisis requiring a draft, men would be called in a sequence determined by random lottery number and year of birth. Then, they would be examined for mental, physical, and moral fitness by the military before being deferred or exempted from military service or inducted into the Armed Forces. Those who do not register risk being denied student financial aid, loans, or grants; vocational training under WIA; government employment; and security clearances, on the basis of their failure to register with Selective Service.
Carry permit costs in Georgia are $75.00 for 5 years, that’s $15.00 a year. You can’t afford that? I can make that work mowing neighbors yards for extra money on the weekend if I needed to. You can also buy a very decent firearm for around 200.00 try a SCCY 9mm.
Matt,
Other states dont have it as good as we do here in GA. I know. I hit up gun shops and pawn shops all over this country. The only other state Ive seen with prices close to ours is Colorado. Expensive to live there but their gun prices are better than everywhere else but here. Search pawn shops for gems. Im a revolver guy and I get Smith model 10s in .38 with 4 barrels for $200 all day long. Can also come across a Smith Model 36, 37 or 38 for the same price. Are they new, no. But if you test their function, cylinder timing and make sure theres no push off, then youve scored a quality defensive firearm that can serve multiple purposes with the right ammo. The deals are there just look. Some folks just gotta have a brand new gun. Why? They are tools. If they work, they work.
Hogarino: there is no draft… it sounds if you are bitter towards the country that hands you your welfare check.. Dont like it? Leave.!! There are plenty of countries in which you would fit nicely
If a student (under 21) attends school in Georgia and has a CC license from Alabama, are there any restrictions for him to CC in Georgia? I have read that, since hes under 21, he would couldnt legally carry in Georgia but another article said it was legal. Can anyone confirm one or the other?
You so calledAmericans cry about low income and minimum wage earners not being able to afford permits etc but I’m sure you are loaded with piercings and tattoos.. gthooh
