Marrero, currently president of the University of West Georgia, will begin his new position April 1.

“Georgia Southern University is an incredible institution and I am honored to be chosen as its 14th president,โ said Marrero.
Prior to his appointment at UWG, Marrero served as vice president for university advancement at the University of West Florida. He holds bachelorโs and masterโs degrees in vocal performance from Bowling Green State University and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Michigan.
