The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating a Tuesday night shooting, a police spokesperson says. The incident occurred on Ogeechee Road near the 37th Street Connector to Interstate 16, during what is termed a traffic stop.

“Two Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police officers were shot just before midnight; they sustained non-life-threatening injuries. A third individual was also shot,” police say.

Police say the third individual, Tyrie Cuyler, 25, had a firearm and shot at several officers. Officers returned fire anf fatally injured Cuyler.

Three of the four officers involved were wearing body cameras, according to reports.
