Perc Coffee prevails
Picture this: you’ve just had your favorite meal, made exquisitely at a local restaurant for lunch. The meal was so comforting and filling that it made you drowsy enough to take a nap. Unfortunately, you have a meeting, so you can’t go to sleep. You order a cup of coffee to swiftly rejuvenate yourself and upon the first sip you twist your face — the coffee is unpleasant.
Casting company seeks extras for Gerard Butler film
Gerard Butler is coming to Savannah, and is seeking his next up-and-coming local hopeful star to stand beside him and his cast as they shoot their new movie.
Or, perhaps they’re just seeking a theatrical production fan looking to see the inner workings of a movie set.
Whichever dream people are looking to chase, the opportunity is here.
Feed a Trucker Campaign kicks off
The Savannah-based trucking firm Veteran Carriers has teamed up with Enmarket to provide a series of free lunches throughout 2021 as a salute to the trucking community, one group of unsung heroes of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Top Tequila’s Town margaritas
There is no question that Tequila’s Town is one of Savannah’s most sought-after Mexican restaurants. So, the question becomes what is the best thing to order from the renowned restaurateurs? Chips and salsa, table side mashed guacamole, and lava like queso dip are always a go-to; but for most, including me, I always order a hand shaken margarita first.
Ice Cream on Victory
While laying in the grass at the moss tree-lined park on a hot summer day, if you listen closely enough, you might hear the sweet sound of an ice cream circling the streets nearby. The kid in you may get up to chase the sound, hoping to see the vehicle has parked, so you can grab yourself an ice cream cone.
Second Harvest honors special, hard-working volunteer
America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia honored a very special volunteer for all of her hard work in the community
Shirley Harris has been a long-time asset to Second Harvest in the Savannah warehouse where she was honored on April 26, 2021 of Volunteer week.
Rock concert to mark 20th rock radio anniversary, connect fans to live music
Connect Savannah and Rock 106.1 are taking live entertainment from the pages of the magazine and the sound waves of radio to the lawn at Trustees’ Garden for a July 3 concert featuring Puddle of Mudd, Sponge and Filter.
Connecting Savannah legacies through ice cream
Leopold’s Ice Cream has partnered with Byrd Cookie Company to create a signature ice cream flavor celebrating Connect Savannah, and they’ve named it Connecting Savannah Legacies.
Band, beer yield perfect combination
A southern band has brought together appreciation for two crafts which stem from creative minds who love what they do by bringing their sound to the eclectic crowds of southern breweries.
Bringing steamed bagels to Savannah
Ashley Harts and Kevin Mapleton hail from Charlotte, North Carolina, and it was their tradition to eat steamed bagels every weekend while living there. Once uprooting their lives for Savannah, the two were beyond dismayed to discover that our steamy town lacked their beloved steamy bagels. Most Savannahians agree that, though we have options for bagel shops, we could always use more.
A Whole New World
Life after this pandemic will look like rainbow colors on skatepark grounds, Alice and the Wonderland tick-tockers and glazed stoneware adorned with rope handles.
At least these are the interpretations of some international artists.
