Twilight Visions: Surrealism, Photography, and Paris -- Through October 10 at Telfair's Jepson Center. Twilight Visions explores the city of Paris as the literal and metaphoric base of Surrealism. Over 100 works-mainly vintage photographs but also including films, books, and period ephemera.
Philip Perkis: Fifty Years of Photographs -- Through September 19 at Telfair's Jepson Center. One of the country's most widely respected photographers, Perkis creates images that amount to visual poetry, capturing fleeting moments of everyday existence that might otherwise go unnoticed.
2nd Annual Friends of African American Arts Fine Arts Exhibition -- August 29-October 24 at Beach Institute
Presented by Telfair Museums, the Friends of African American Arts (FAAA), and the Beach Institute, juried show features work in a variety of media by artists such as Suzanne Jackson, Preston Russell, Margaret Brennan, and Amiri Farris. Free and open to the public.
Metalpoint Drawings by Dennis Martin -- September 18 -January 30 at Telfair Academy. Martin utilized the tone and delicacy of metalpoint to create exacting, beautifully lit portrayals of his human subjects and imbue them with a timeless quality.
Birds in Flight: An Installation by Matt Hebermehl -- September 23- March 23 at Telfair's Jepson Center. Eckburg Atrium will be transformed with an intriguing installation of five suspended, wooden birds created by community artist Matt Hebermehl
The Art of Kahlil Gibran -- Sept. 29 - Jan. 23 at Telfair's Jepson Center. In September, the Telfair's Kahlil Gibran holdings will make their Jepson Center debut in the Varnedoe and Levitt Galleries. This collection of drawings, watercolors, and paintings spans his career-with works from his first exhibition at photographer Frederick Holland Day's studio in Boston in 1904 to art created during the last years of his life.

16th Annual Telfair Art Fair -- Nov. 13, 10 am-5 pm and November 14, 12-4 pm in Telfair Square. Held under a large, lighted tent adjacent to historic Telfair Square, the 2010 Art Fair is free and open to the public throughout the weekend. The annual event showcases a variety of original art for sale, with something to suit every taste and budget. This year, the Children's Art Fair in the Square will provide kids with fun and exciting activities and projects.

I Have Marks to Make -- Dec. 5- Jan. 3 at Telfair's Jepson Center. "I Have Marks to Make" enters its sixteenth year at Telfair Museums, emphasizing the role that visual, language, and performing arts can play in the lives of individuals with disabilities and for those in rehabilitation from injury or illness. Taking place in the second floor education spaces of the Jepson Center, the exhibition will feature work by nearly one hundred artists of all ages. Opening reception Dec. 5, 2-5 pm.
