Renowned paleoanthropologist Dr. Lee Berger is set to captivate audiences once again as he makes his eagerly awaited return to the Tybee Post Theater this August. Dr. Berger's visit promises to bring a wealth of knowledge and experience gained from his extensive explorations in the field of paleoanthropology. Currently embarking on a public relations tour in collaboration with NatGeo and Netflix across the United States and Europe, Dr. Berger's stopover at Tybee Island holds a special "homecoming" significance for the accomplished explorer.

Hailing from Savannah, Dr. Berger's connection to Tybee Island runs deep. During his formative years, he spent summers at his family's Tybee home, forging cherished memories that would go on to influence his illustrious career as a trailblazer in the realm of paleoanthropology. Notably, a significant chapter of his life was devoted to working for WTOC while pursuing his education at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro.

Dr. Berger's contributions extend beyond his scientific endeavors. In 1987, his actions earned him the National Press Photographers Association Humanitarian Award. In a selfless act of courage, he discarded his camera as a news photographer and leaped into the Savannah River to rescue a drowning woman. This act of valor is a testament to his character and unwavering dedication to aiding others.

The Tybee Post Theater is no stranger to Dr. Berger's presentations. His previous appearance drew a packed house as he shared insights from his NatGeo special, followed by an illuminating Q&A session. This time, audiences are in for a treat as he presents his latest Netflix special, scheduled for screening on Thursday, August 17 at 7 p.m. The generosity of Dr. Berger ensures that attendees can take in this screening and the subsequent Q&A without incurring any charges.

Organizers say an evening with Dr. Lee Berger promises an enriching experience for all attendees. Moreover, those who bring along a copy of his latest book, "CAVE OF BONES," are in for an extra treat. Dr. Berger is expected to provide autographs, reminiscent of his previous visit when he graciously signed copies of "ALMOST HUMAN."

The Tybee Post Theater team is anticipating a full house. Due to limited seating capacity, interested individuals are strongly urged to secure their free seating reservations.
