606 East Cafe I’m happy to report that this former Savannah restaurant has returned, and it’s just as funky-fun-eclectic as the original. This premier piece of real estate at the […]
Tim Rutherford
Tim Rutherford grew up in rural Kentucky – then left home to pursue more than three decades as a photojournalist and newsman. A ground-breaking meal in New Orleans in 1979 set him on a path exploring food and wine. Six years ago he changed career paths – now spending his time writing about the people and places that make food and wine special. In his spare time, he teaches cooking and consults in the food and beverage industry on food safety (ProActive Control Systems), menu development and event marketing. He is a columnist for Connect Savannah, The Bluffton Sun and contributes regularly to magazines ranging from Food Network magazine to Delta Sky. His weekly e-mail newsletter, Savannahfoodie Tastings, circulates weekly to nearly 5,000 subscribers. Tim is available as an after-dinner speaker, cooking class demonstrator or to simply help with your next wine pairing.

Bites & pieces: Wiley’s, Brasserie 529
Wiley’s Championship BBQ This whole “fall back” thing had me in a funk. The body resists this legislated tweak to the internal clock. It takes me more than a week […]
Sticking up for chardonnay
Chardonnay gets a bum rap, let’s face it. This ubiquitous white wine became a mundane staple of house wine lists everywhere. It became the poster child for boring party wines […]
Bites & pieces: Butterhead Greens

Bites & pieces: Cheddars, Form, Swank
Cheddars in Pooler Sometimes, I get e–mail lambasting me for “liking everything.” To set the record straight, I don’t look for bad food. We’re not so over–blessed with restaurants that […]
