• An officer observed two men standing behind a convenience store at the corner of Hall Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. One man was standing “with his hand out open to the other,” and, believing a drug deal was underway, the officer stopped to investigate. One of the men fled the scene when he saw the officer. He “ran around a church and tried to hide in a church van.” When the officer pulled up to the church, the man ran away again and was apprehended on Green Street. He “complained of chest pains” and was treated by EMS before being taken to jail.

 

•An Alfred Street resident reported receiving harassing and threatening phone calls. The woman said another woman had been calling asking for her sister. When told the sister was not home, the caller “became rude and hung up.” Using Caller ID, the victim called the woman back. The suspect “began using vulgar language when asked to identify herself.” She told the victim that ”If I had a car, I would come over and mess you up,” then hung up.

• Police were called to Oglethorpe Mall after three juveniles began throwing rocks at a vehicle. Upon arrival, mall security advised the police that the suspects “had been filmed in the act of throwing the rocks.” The car in question had a damaged roof. After viewing the videotapes, the officers located the suspects and apprehended them. One was charged with resisting arrest and the others were released to their guardians’ care pending a court appearance.

 

• A woman reported that a gun she kept in a dresser drawer was missing. The woman said she stored the gun in a box with a safety lock on it “because she has small children.” When the woman checked her dresser to see if the gun was there, she found that “it and two magazines of ammunition were missing.” She said she had not had company and that the only people in her apartment were pest control or maintenance workers. There was no sign of forced entry.
