Film: At What Cost? Pipelines, Pollution and Eminent Domain in the Rural South

The 50-minute film by Augusta filmmaker Mark Albertin highlights the struggle of landowners who stand to be affected by the Houston-based energy giant’s Palmetto Pipeline project, which was denied a certificate of public convenience and necessity. The ruling from the Georgia Department of Transportation meant Kinder Morgan could not exercise eminent domain to acquire the land needed for the $1 billion pipeline. However, the company did appeal this decision and a ruling is expected early this year.
