Panel Discussion: Trayvon Martin and Jordan Davis: The Dangers of Being A Black Man in America

Armstrong graduate students Kwame Philips and Christopher Godfrey will host the panel, comprised of five professors and students. The panel will discuss whether the results of these cases demonstrate what our nation thinks about the value of the lives of its young black men, the messages these send to the black community, whether African-American men should change their culture to be safe from society’s misconceptions and what steps should be taken to address recent injustices and prevent future cases. Hosted by Armstrong's Office of Multicultural Affairs. A candlelight vigil will be held in remembrance of Trayvon Martin and Jordan Davis at 7 p.m. in the Residential Plaza near the fountain on the Armstrong campus.
