Macke got 14,128 votes (54.6 percent) to give her the victory over Brewington, who collected 11,757 votes (45.4).

"I am overwhelmed with immense gratitude and humility," Macke told Connect Savannah on Tuesday. "Throughout this year, I have been so touched by the kindness of everyone. I have learned so much. I am a better person, and I am a better judge, because of all of you."

"Tonight would not have possible without the support of so many who have put their trust in me to serve as their next Magistrate Court Judge."
"Many voted for me because you trusted my passion for Magistrate Court — to continue to serve our community with integrity, empathy and dedication — and to ensure fair access to justice, regardless of circumstances or background. I pledge to continue the passion. Thank you so much, Chatham County."
