On Monday, March 25, the family of Kevin “Catfish” Jackson joined in prayer in the Kelley Gym at Savannah Christian Preparatory School with hundreds of friends, students, CEOs, elected officials, and well wishers to pray.

On Tuesday, March 19, Jackson went for his daily walk around his neighborhood. Twenty minutes later, he fell and suffered a heart attack. The neighbors performed CPR while waiting for the ambulance.

He was transported to Memorial Health University Medical Hospital where he underwent surgery and received five stints.

On Saturday, “Little Kev” Jackson wrote, “I appreciate honesty, so I will be blunt.  We are praying for a miracle. The odds are stacked against him, but everyone who knows Catfish, knows he is the man who defies odds. A man of deep and strong faith.  A one in 1,000,000,000 type of guy. He’s always told me that life has the 3 G’s. You either give up, give in, or give it all you got!  And I see it in him, he is fighting and giving it all he’s got like always! If this is the one shot we have to make sure he wakes up, we are going to do everything in our power to make sure we do it right!”

Elizabeth Sumner, the oldest of the Jackson children, said, “We can’t even begin to put into words what prayers have meant to our family. We can’t wait to tell him about it when he wakes up.”

“Little Kev” encourages people to get CPR certified, noting that the neighbors who performed CPR for ten minutes last Tuesday gave his dad a fighting chance and an opportunity to make it to the hospital.

Mary Margaret Cone, the youngest of the Jackson children, said, “Please pray for our dad and our family - especially our mom right now.”

Kevin Jackson, also known as “Catfish," attended the University of Georgia (1979 - 1983) and played football for the Bulldogs.

In May 1999, he formed EnviroVac Holdings, LLC, and serves as president and CEO of the company.

Under his leadership, EnviroVac has grown from a company of four employees to over 1,000 staff members, with offices in Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

“Catfish” is a well known member of the Savannah community, and a generous philanthropist.

Jackson remains in the ICU at Memorial Hospital.
