COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS: Local McDonald’s restaurants to host Coffee with a Cop

Some of the best conversations happen over a cup of coffee, and soon two of Savannah’s McDonald’s restaurants will invite the public to come in and connect with local law enforcement while enjoying a nice cup of joe.

This event is a part of a larger initiative across North and Central Florida and South Georgia to facilitate civil conversations and foster positive relationships between cops and the community members they serve. It’s a special opportunity to discuss community issues and learn about one another in an informal, neutral environment. As a perk, all Coffee with a Cop attendees will receive a free small hot or iced coffee courtesy of McDonald’s.

“As a McDonald’s Owner/Operator, being involved in the community is the cornerstone of my business, and supporting our local law enforcement is a huge priority for my organization,” said local McDonald’s owner and operator John Palmaccio. “I hope that community members will attend our Coffee with a Cop events and feel comfortable to ask questions, bring forward concerns or simply get to know the officers.”

Two McDonald’s locations, 2701 Montgomery Street and 7979 White Bluff Road, are hosting Coffee with Cop events on Friday, May 19 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. All members of the community are welcome to attend.

McDonald’s restaurants will continue to collaborate with law enforcement offices throughout the year to host more of these events to improve cop and community relations, one cup of coffee at a time.
