We have all heard that phrase. This year "Best of Savannah" fits in that category. We typically produce the "Best of" edition in May. COVID-19 had different plans. Now as the world creeps to normalcy, we bring you the "Best of Savannah" better late than never edition.
As in the past, readers voted on their favorites in seven main categories:
Food and Restaurants;
Nightlife and Drink;
Music and Culture;
Recreation, Health, and Beauty;
City Life and Public Affairs;
Shopping and Services; and
Media.
We list all the winners, and runners -up are also listed. There are also profile stories in each category.
I would personally like to thank everyone involved in this year’s publication.
Carly Sharec, who did the majority of this work. I’m not sure what we would have done without her. Her efforts truly were “best of”.
Our Art Director/Production Manager Brandon Blatcher and Graphic Designer Loretta Calhoun have the vision and artistic talent that few possess. They went above and beyond to make this edition a visual success.
Our sales team, Chris Griffin, Bucky Bryant and Mandy Younce. It is not easy knocking on doors during a pandemic. Through it all, they performed with smiles on their face, a positive attitude, and much needed humor.
The distribution is done by the one and only Mayor of The Original Pinkie Masters, Wayne Franklin.
Office Manager Windy Wickham takes on every task and no question ever goes unanswered. Wendy is the go-to girl.
We would also like to thank former editor Jim Morekis and former staff writers Sean Kelly and Rachael Flora for their contributions to this edition.
We have some terrific contributors that pitched in to make this a special edition too.
Lindy Moody
Jessica Farthing
Brittany Herren
Brandy Simpkins
Taylor Clayton
Chris Sweat
Jonathan Vasata
Alex Neumann
We also got the “Best Local Photographer” to shoot the cover photo. Adrianna Iris Boatwright did a marvelous job.
We are thankful for Congress Street Social Club for providing the location for the cover shoot too.
Thanks to everyone at the Kehoe Iron Works for hosting the awards ceremony.
We love putting this section together every year. We appreciate everyone who voted. Now it’s time to celebrate!
Cheers!
