LOOPSMITH Keller Williams is back at Southbound, this time to celebrate the local brewery’s fourth anniversary (cheers to that!).
Inspired by rock ‘n’ roll, free jazz, bluegrass, and soul music, Williams has been making one-of-a-kind sounds since the early 1990s, delighting jam music fans, festival frequenters, and guitar nerds alike.
When it’s not just him, a guitar, and a loop pedal, Williams can be found performing in Grateful Gospel, a Grateful Dead tribute that takes the audience to church, jamming alongside The Travelin’ McCourys, performing with Keller & The Keels, turning up a jazz/blues/reggae/disco fusion with Keller Williams with Moseley, Droll and Sipe, crafting R&B funk with More Than A Little, or accompanying countless famous friends onstage.
Most recently, Williams released his first album with his quartet Kwahtro. The record, Sync, features Williams on guitar and vocals, Danton Boller (Jazz Mandolin Project, Roy Hargrove) on bass, Gibb Droll (Brandi Carlisle, Bruce Hornsby) on guitar, and Rodney Holmes (Carlos Santana, Steve Kimock) on drums. Sync features special appearances from The Accidentals, Mike Dillon, and even Williams’ son Cabell Williams.
A ticket to the event includes entry, beer samples (Southbound’s even bringing back a few of your old favorite brews), and a souvenir pint glass. Food trucks will be parked outside while Williams jams a solo set inside.
