The Hypnotics, Minorcan, Impossible Vacation @El-Rocko Lounge

TAKE in an evening of vibrant, high-energy rock 'n’ roll at El-Rocko this weekend.

Hometown heroes The Hypnotics may be known for kicking out ‘50s and ‘60s rock classics, but the power trio writes infectious original material, too. Throw on your best vintage duds and hit the floor.

The Hypnotics are joined by Asheville’s Impossible Vacation and Minorcan.

Impossible Vacation features indie scene vets Lane Wille (Reigning Sound, Unholy Trio), SB (Heart Beats Red, Hope and Anchor, Desperate Pilot), and Todd Weakley (Hope and Anchor, Desperate Pilot, Boys of Summer). The three-piece brings nostalgic shimmer and Southern lilt to their summery tunes.

The members of Minorcan call their sound “basement arena rock”—indeed, theirs is a rowdy, gritty, jangly pop that’s sure to get you dancing. The band recently recorded a new album in Athens with Jason Nesmith (Casper & The Cookies, Pylon Reenactment Society, Richard Lloyd Band), due in late 2017.
