Savannah City Hall on March 1, 2024
Savannah government buildings and businesses across the city turned their exterior lights green on Friday night as part of an event to kick off St. Patrick's Day month. Take a look at locations from across the city turning green on March 1 by checking out the slideshow at bottom of this story.
Put on by the 200th Savannah St. Patrick’s Day Parade committee, "Turn the City Green" is a community-wide initiative which also asks citizens to turn exterior lights at homes and businesses to green and post them to the Visit Savannah Facebook page.

The campaign was launched at a 7pm ceremony on Friday, March 1 at the corner of Bay and Barnard Streets, directly across from City Hall. Savannah Mayor Van Johnson and Chatham County Commissioner Chester Ellis "flipped the switch" to light up City Hall in green.
